Expression & Effect of contemporary Protheses/Orthotics
In my bachelor thesis I took the opportunity to continue and deepen my research about expression and effect of contemporary protheses/orthotics both on its wearers and its observers.
I focused on body image and identity and researched the human need for jewellery and how it can be used in medical design. I also analysed common medical implements in means of design and modern approaches by designers and artists.
In order to deepen my practical insights I interviewed people wearing medical implements as well as orthopaedic technicians and others from that field.
The project includes material research and try-outs, leading to my final design for Hearing Aids.
